My symptoms were getting worse and my PCP called Dr. Verma's office to schedule an appointment for me. I was given one with a 3 week wait but was called by staff at Neurology to say there was a cancellation for the following morning. I accepted and was relieved to have the opportunity to see Dr. Verma over a week earlier than originally scheduled. The appointment went well, as always. Staff were friendly, supportive and very helpful. Appointments were scheduled for the same day for bloodwork and X-rays. Everything went as it was supposed to. Dr. Verma took time to make sure I understood his recommendations and changes to one of my scripts. Glad that you asked. Our experience was very frustrating. My wife and I were professional people who dealt with the public on a regular basis in our careers. We came to this clinic from the Mayo Clinic to avoid over 180 miles of driving for each visit. My neurologist felt that a doctor here could easily monitor may case. Linnae accompanied me to the exam room for each visit with Dr. Verma, and we both came away with the same conclusions. His answer to questions about monitoring because of the medication, need for future visits, need for CPAP machine, etc. was "It's up to you". At one point he indicated that it would be cheaper to see Dr. Ruen for my blood work instead of paying more to see a specialist. Because of his nurse April, who seemed to be able to communicate with him, we seem to have a plan in place. However, we will probably put up with the driving and return to Rochester where they are willing to answer our questions in a professional manner. - R.F
