Dr. Gibbons did surgery on my right shoulder. I had calcific tendonitis, tear in rotator cuff, he also cleaned, scraped, and cut and reattached my bicep tendons as where they were attached was in need of repair.Dr. Gibbons and his medical team do amazing work and he also did my left shoulder 3 plus years ago. Time will tell on how much of the movement I get back, but he said it could take up to 5 years to see a full recovery with what had to be done. Grateful for not having the agonizing pain that I was living with for as many years as I did. - K.T

Dr. Mulholland saw cat scan results of Ron Jessen's colon. Ron was losing weight and getting weaker due to his condition. He had an appointment at Mayo for December. I tried twice to get the appointment closer due to his condition. When I told Dr. Mulholland that he said to go to the ER at Mayo and they had to take him. We did and he was put in the hospital and on Thursday morning a bypass of colon and bladder were done. I never would have thought to just take him to Mayo ER. I thank Dr Mulholland very much for his advice. - R.J

I have never had any surgeries to the extent of a knee replacement. I was informed of extent of the surgery and all went as expected. The rehab is not a piece of cake,but I knew it wouldn’t be. I am still only 3-4 months in and doing the exercises definitely has benefits even though you may not enjoy it. Everyone I talk to that have had this procedure say give it 8 months to a year . - T.Y

I had been experiencing shoulder issues for several years and due to the pain, had to stop playing golf. I realized something needed to be done and appreciated the honesty of Dr. Gibbons. Tentatively, surgery has been scheduled sometime in late Fall. I feel this is the only option to give me the possibility of having a more active lifestyle and being able to again, play golf. I also appreciate Dr. Gibbons alerting me of the spots found on my lungs and am pursuing this with my family physician. - K.B

Dr. Gibbons was a game changer in my breast cancer treatment. I had started taking antidepressants because both of my shoulders were severely effected after my double mastectomy. Something they don't tell cancer patients may be a side effect. My plastic surgeon said it was the worst he'd ever seen. The physical therapy team said it could take years. When you do everything the oncologist tells you to do and come out cancer free, you never expect to not be able to brush your hair or pull up your own underwear or pants. Plastic surgeon said I'd probably need shoulder surgery. Dr Gibbons gave me 2 shots and sent me home. I am no longer on antidepressants. I brush my own hair, I've even been able to return to work with light duty as a hospice aid. Thank you Dr. Gibbons! I will be able to lift my grandchildren this summer! - S.T

Staff post-op was unkind, 5th ortho, did not even understand that a patient would still have anesthetic on board directly after surgery and to be given pain med every 4 hours would increase the inability to act in a rational way. Instead they became irritated, if not angry when patient did not do as asked.Family did not understand why no information was shared with them and a discharge summary was not sent with patient upon discharge. Staff did not talk to family at all on day of discharge.Discharge physician said that he did not see any information in the discharge papers in relation to this concern.I have no concerns about the surgeon or his staff, they were very professional. - J.R

Dr. Gibbons looked at my elbow the swelling of which was going down. He called it burcitus. He was very good in explaining how it happens and what causes the swelling. He also said I had a small bone spur there too. He also explained what surgery could remedy the situation. But said the cure was worse than the condition. I agreed with him after his explanation. His best advice was to leave it alone. To which I agreed. He was very thorough in his explanations and had a very friendly manner. My husband had him for leg and hip surgery after a fall 2 years ago so I knew who he was before my appointment. He is very good. I would recommend him to anyone. - G.T

Now the xray clearly indicates its time for hip replacement {scheduled 5-10-17}. 2 week post rotator cuff surgery. We were called back to the exam room in a timely manner and then WAITED for Dr. Gibbons. The wait was a bit longer than we thought necessary, but Dr. Gibbons did a great job explaining why he delayed starting exercises. He demonstrated the exercise and then had me try it. He gave me a good rest of directions as well as how much time I needed to do the exercises. - D.A

Wait time was a little long. Experience with the Doctor was excellent. He took time to listen to my story and then proceeded to check out my shoulder. He explained what the problem was and that I should do physical therapy to strengthen my shoulder muscles. I was given an injection with gave over-night pain relief and the exercises learned in physical therapy seem to be helping. An excellent visit overall. - A.J

Suspected that I had torn my rotator cuff on my left shoulder being I had torn my rotator cuff on my right shoulder three years ago. My surgery for a badly torn rotator cuff was one year ago. I really liked dr. Gibbons. His matter of fact personality is how I like to get information about recovery from this. He told me straight up that the surgery was more complex being the type of injury that it was. He was very upfront about the painful therapy I would experience. I had check ups every 3 months. I was very diligent in doing the therapy he prescribed, he was pleased with my advancing but always cautioned me about over doing as well as to not stop the exercises. On 04/17/14 I had my check up and Dr. Gibbons released me but again( what I like about him) he cautioned me about not being 25 and the fact that in the next 5 years it could tear out again . Dr. Gibbons did surgery on my right shoulder. I had calcific tendonitis, tear in rotator cuff, he also cleaned, scraped, and cut and reattached my bicep tendons as where they were attached was in need of repair.Dr. Gibbons and his medical team do amazing work and he also did my left shoulder 3 plus years ago. Time will tell on how much of the movement I get back, but he said it could take up to 5 years to see a full recovery with what had to be done. Dr. Mulholland saw cat scan results of Ron Jessen's colon. Ron was losing weight and getting weaker due to his condition. He had an appointment at Mayo for December. I tried twice to get the appointment closer due to his condition. When I told Dr. Mulholland that he said to go to the ER at Mayo and they had to take him. We did and he was put in the hospital and on Thursday morning a bypass of colon and bladder were done. I never would have thought to just take him to Mayo ER. I have never had any surgeries to the extent of a knee replacement. I was informed of extent of the surgery and all went as expected. The rehab is not a piece of cake,but I knew it wouldn’t be. Dr. Gibbons was a game changer in my breast cancer treatment. I had started taking antidepressants because both of my shoulders were severely effected after my double mastectomy. Something they don't tell cancer patients may be a side effect. My plastic surgeon said it was the worst he'd ever seen. The physical therapy team said it could take years. When you do everything the oncologist tells you to do and come out cancer free, you never expect to not be able to brush your hair or pull up your own underwear or pants. Plastic surgeon said I'd probably need shoulder surgery. Dr Gibbons gave me 2 shots and sent me home. I am no longer on antidepressants. I brush my own hair, I've even been able to return to work with light duty as a hospice aid. Thank you Dr. Gibbons! I will be able to lift my grandchildren this summer! - S.T
