I was called to see Dr. Stoneking the minute I finished filling out paperwork! I did not have to wait long at all, and I was there early.He was kind and helpful in answering questions, as he always is. He did a complete examination. When my blood pressure was higher than usual, he asked me to come back a few minutes later, for him to take it again after lab work was done, thinking I might have been nervous. He suggested that I get a blood pressure monitor and take BP twice a week. He set an appointment for two months from that date (rather than six, as usual). He asked me to call him if blood pressure stayed in the range shown that morning - but if not, I was to come in two months. I had my yearly wellness exam. I felt good about most aspects of the visit. I knew what to expect as far as the physical exam and felt that I received a good exam. The new addition of a sheet stating the difference between a wellness exam and acute ongoing problems and how it was covered and possible fees accessed was a bit confusing after reading the sheet that I was asked to sign. I asked one of the office staff to clarify and she was a bit vague about the intent and coding procedures but was very polite and helpful in as much as she gave me a copy and said that I didn't have to sign it if I chose not to. I was a bit apprehensive about what questions I asked about specific health and general health questions as a result. I understand that Dr. Stoneking's time is at a premium and he has to engage the task at hand. I do have some follow up questions as to some flags on the tests results and what they mean but hope they will be answered in his summary when I receive it. I am very satisfied with Dr. Stoneking and confident he makes good choices as a partner in my health care choices. Arrived around 8:00 p.m., Saturday, 7/1 at Wesley Long hosp. for testing for blood clots in left leg. Tests taken and medicine given in preparation for a doplar exam scheduled for the next day at 9:00 a.m. Went back to WhiteStone rehab center for the night and back to Cone hospital the next morning for the doplar. Results showed several blood clots in left leg and possibly in right leg as well. Also reported was a urinary tract infection and medicine prescribed to correct that. All people were very professional and gave me a sense of being treated well and of their concern to get me well. They were kind and helpful. - M.Newton

I came in for my annual checkup, cpe on Friday of last week. Check-in was smooth and I was seen promptly. After the exam, Dr. Stoneking discussed my condition in detail. We agreed that I should have an A1c test in addition to my normal lab screenings. We also discussed Viagra and Dr. Stoneking was quick to understand my situation and was careful to avoid any embarrassment on my part. He also answered my questions regarding my transition to Medicare this year.I received a prescription for Viagra. I had blood drawn (an excellent job by the phlebotomist) Wnen I got home, I checked the online portal and most of my lab results were already there (very nice). The A1C results came in on Monday and I received a call from the nurse telling me that Dr. Stoneking had prescribed Metformin based on those results. I realized that I had not received an appointment for my next annual check-up so I used the portal to set it up.All in all, I received excellent care and the whole team of health care professionals did their jobs in an exemplary way. - James Adamson

I developed atrial fibrillation and called the office for an urgent office visit. I received a prompt call from the office with a visit for an EKG that confirmed my atrial fibrillation. Dr. Stoneking met with me and got me started on diltiazem which converted my heart rhythm to a normal rhythm within 16 hours. The office then set up an appointment for me to see a cardiologist to follow this up and that appointment is March 1. Dr.Stoneking called me personally on February 12 to see how I was doing. When Dr Osborne gave up his practice to enter another field, I requested Dr. Stoneking to be my new doctor and was accepted as a patient. I had seen him on three occasions when Dr Osborne was not available. The first time I had pneumonia that was very painful. He prescribed a medication that immediately made me start to feel rapidly better. I was impressed by him as a person and a doctor. On two occasions I saw him for other problems. I'm not sure what the date was when I was there to see Dr. Stoneking, but he helped treat me for allergies which was correct, even though I have never had allergies?? I was happy not to have to take antibiotics and thanks to Dr. Stoneking I did not. The symptoms were manageable immediately and went away within the week.
