Dr. Victoria Rankins is a doctor who cares about her patients and tats them with respect, as opposed to those who are backing up towards the door minutes after they enter the room. She uses the appointment time wisely but also makes you feel like she is concerned about your well-being. She is so intelligent, sharp, and well-trained. I asked about a condition that was affecting me. She took it seriously and did a thorough check, and then assured me it is a common usually not serious complaint. This may seem silly, but I had gone to the Harvard Med site in advance. It said what a doctor will do to examine for the condition. Well, Dr. Rankins walked in, heard the symptom, and immediately did everything the Harvard Med site said the doctor would do. That gave me great confidence. Plus, her warmth and wit make visits to the doctor much more pleasant. I am so glad to have her as my doctor. - .G

I was able to get a same-day appointment with my PCP, Dr. Rankins, and she did an extremely thorough history and physical, got extensive lab work, and referred me to a specialist. Dr. Rankins did a thorough exam to determine my right side pain. It was diagnosed as a muscle strain. All bloodwork and urine sample did not show anything abnormal. The pain lasted a few more days and has diminished greatly but is still there. It's been about 3 weeks overall. I would think a muscle strain would not have lasted that long? If it does not disappear completely in the next week or so, I will schedule a follow-up. I appreciate Dr. Rankins and the staff at Eagle. They are very kind and sympathetic to my concerns. Last minute appointment. Great reception and nurse. First time I had met Dr Rankins who was concerned with my symptoms, gave me a thorough exam. When she scolded me about taking an excessive number of aspirin, and she was very firm, it came across as caring and worried instead of critical and condescending. She made me an appointment with a neurologist for the next day, "I found you a good one", and prescribed an alternative to the aspirin.He was a great neurologist who conducted pretty much the same exam that she did. My husband had been ill for many years and Dr. Rankins took care of him to help him deal with his type 1 diabetes as well as making sure that I was coping as well as possible.The facility is immaculate and well staffed (front desks and nurses) as well as the lab area. Dr. Rankins is always very knowledgeable and compassionate with her treatment. I was overdue in getting my blood work done, and I received a call from her nurse that I needed to come in and also make an appointment to see her. She ordered the blood work for me so I would be able to have my blood drawn a week before my appointment; because of this, we both had the results to discuss, analyze and diagnose. Knowledge is power, and I was able to ask her any questions I had. When she saw that my A1C was missing she ordered that in a timely manner so I would have it the next day. She adjusted my Invokana and the new prescription was ready by the time I returned home. She not only tells me what changes she is going to make in my treatment but she discusses why. Dr Rankins and staff have been wonderful for our entire family in this difficult time time for us.We appreciate Dr Rankins skill and help making my mother in law make this difficult transition. My Mother in law relocated to NC at 92 after a fall and injury. She is a life long resident of Pittsburgh and planned to leave her home "feet first". She is not an easy person to deal with and the dementia has amplified the challenges . At the same time my husband, her son is having treatment at Duke for advanced cancer - so our needs are complex. The front desk staff was especially helpful in making the connections for getting her paperwork to move to Assisted living. I appreciate the help. She provided excellent care , provided referrals and helping us move her to her new home. As a nurse I recognize the complexities of a busy practice /office - and they went the extra step to help me - getting my "forms" for admission and tocommunicate with Dr Rankins.
