Wow! I was seen so very quickly, after a quick checking-in, that I didn't even get a chance to read my brought-along book in the waiting room! Staff was sincerely friendly, gracious, welcoming, thoughtful and efficient, while checking me in, weighing me in, taking my vitals, and reviewing my medications. Dr. Barnes was cordial, warm, and caring. She was also efficient and informative ( not rushing my questions, but answering my concerns). Flu shot was given to me without discomfort. I love this place and its people!

When a friend recommended I get immediate medical care, I was able to schedule an appointment that day with Dr. Barnes. She determined that I should go to the ER. I spent one night at Wesley Long where I was given saline and several antibiotic drips. I went in because my right knee has been swollen since May 18th and could barely bear weight or straighten my leg. Dr Barnes, was very compassionate and amazing bedside manner, she tried examining my knee, but it was so tender, she thought I had a tear in my meniscus. Before my appointment was over, Dr Barnes said she wanted me to see Orthopedics today. Her office got an appointment for 2 pm at the orthopedics and I left her office at 1pm. Dr Barnes made this uncomfortable appointment more comforting and letting me know everything will be ok.

I was thrilled to have gotten in to see Dr. Barnes on the same day of the morning that I called for an appointment! I had been experiencing radically-excruciating cramps throughout my legs and feet the night before, lasting a full thirty minutes. Dr. Barnes listened attentively and empathetically, displayed compassion and honest concern, asked me several questions, reviewed my medications and my previous blood panel, gave me a physical exam, and then suggested that I discontinue my statin. Dr. Barnes explained that people's bodies sometimes react in many different ways to statins, and perhaps the statin I was taking was responsible for the terrible painful night time leg cramp episodes I had been having over the last few years, although, just recently, the night cramps in my legs and feet had increased in frequency, intensity, and duration. (The previous night's pain was unlike anything I had experienced. On a scale of one to ten, I rated my pain to be an eleven!) Tomorrow will have been one week since I was seen by Dr. Barnes. I am grateful to report that all nighttime leg and foot cramps have completely disappeared. I am pain-free for the first time in many years. Thanks be to God, through Dr. Barnes! Thank you, Dr. Barnes!

This was just a routine physical, but Dr Barnes noticed a scratch on my upper left arm that she thought looked infected, and prescribed an antibiotic, which made it heal right up. I take a lot of different medications, and see a lot of specialists because i have some complicated medical issues. Dr Barnes keeps track of all this stuff and it gives me a feeling of relief knowing they do such a good job, as i suffer from brain fog most of the time and fatigue, so i am not able to keep up with my own records the way i would like to, i feel good having Dr Barnes on the job !

Hi. I don't see the stars popping or changing position, so I'll just say all was well done/excellent during my exam Jan. 19, 2018. Dr. Barnes answered my questions and asked for clarification of a couple marks I'd made on the checklist, which turned out to be my errors. The nurse who drew my blood twice has a very gentle touch, and Brittany rapidly summoned me to come in that same day for a repeat blood test. Dr. Barnes' quick referral to my hemotologist resulted in his office calling me before the end of that day, a Friday, so I feel my needs are being met in a timely manner.

I knew from my last visit with Dr. Barnes, on 9-29-17, that I was also due for a pneumonia-prevention booster-shot, so I also added this to my appointment request. Her pin-pointing, thought-provoking questions brought me into some concrete mindfulness regarding the shaking, such as possible reasons (anxiety, nervousness, stress). I was diagnosed with breast cancer a year ago, have had surgery and treatment, and am now cancer-free. However, it has been a challenging year for me. And because I did not receive any emotional support at home, I have sought out counseling to receive the support I needed. Dr. Barnes asked me who my counselor was, and I gave her my counselor's name. I appreciated that she asked me this! Dr. Barnes noted that trembling was often a symptom of some possible medical conditions (Essential Tremors and Parkinson's). She was reassuring in telling me that this trembling did not seem to have the "flavor" of Parkinson's. I was grateful for her opinion! Dr. Barnes referred me to a neurologist, for which I am grateful. My appointment with the neurologist is just three weeks away! I am encouraged and pleased that the neurologist to whom I've been referred, specializes in Parkinson's. My husband insisted on attending this appointment with me, and asked Dr. Barnes if a DAT-scan was used as a diagnostic tool for Parkinson's. The scan was part of our experience in 2016, in Rochester, N.Y. when my previously-diagnosed-with-Parkinson's-husband was un-diagnosed from Parkinson's after having a DAT-scan, which showed negative for Parkinson's. Dr. Barnes told us she was unfamiliar with the DAT-scan, but that this would be a good question to ask the neurologist! I am still trembling, but I am much-relieved after having been given the information, reassurance, and neurological recommendation by Dr. Barnes!It mattered to me that she was compassionate, and that she seemed to be interested, and that she cared. Her assistant, Brittany, then gave me my pneumonia booster -one of the least uncomfortable shots ever given to me! I am grateful to, and thankful for Dr. Barnes. To me, she is a definite "God-send"! Thank you.

my appointment was at 8:45. it was 45-50 minutes before i saw Dr.Barnes. Once Dr Barnes enters the room, she is the absolute best. I have her full attention. She covers every need I have and pays attention to the smallest detail. If I need to wait that long to get that kind of service, I will gladly wait. I only rated wait time low because this is the first time I have been asked. Please understand, i shopped for a doctor that would listen to me. Appointment was for a regular check up, no related problem issues. Arrived as scheduled, announced my arrival at the desk, shortly after was brought in to examination room, had weight and blood pressure check. Dr. Barnes entered room shortly after, pleasant as always, checked blood pressure again (both readings were higher than normal). Dr. Barnes tested the plant of my feet for sensitivity, I believe it was normal. had conversation about medications, including potential side effects, etc. As we exited the examination room, Dr. Barnes accompanied me to blood extraction area, where another friendly RN did the procedure masterfully, no pain, no resulting bruising. In all the visit lasted perhaps from the arrival time to the time I left perhaps 45 minutes.

I was promptly greeted upon arrival and all information was taken care of at the front desk. I sat in the waiting area and was taken to an examining room a couple of minutes prior to my appointment time. The attending nurse took all the information along with the preliminary tests promptly and explained that Dr. Barnes would be with me momentarily. Dr. Barnes arrived a couple of minutes later and we discussed the reason for my visit and she did her exam. She prescribed the medication which was filled electronically while I was discussing several other items with Dr. Barnes. Dr. Barnes escorted me to the lab where blood was drawn for several tests. 48 hrs. later my test results were posted to my patient portal and I received a phone call from Dr. Barnes office to explain the results. All in all this was a very friendly, professionally handled visit by the fine staff and Doctors of Eagle at Guilford College.

I went in for a medicine check, required by my insurance company. The nurse checked my weight and blood pressure and asked questions about the medicines I currently take. When Dr. Barnes came in, she asked about my overall health, how the medicine was working for me, and checked my latest medical history. She recommended I schedule a physical since I haven't had one in several years and indicated I would need to come in fasting so that blood work could be done. She sent my prescription to my pharmacy while I was there, so I left knowing that it was taken care of. Dr. Barnes has been my primary care physician for several years, and I always feel as if she listens carefully and gives me good recommendations. Phones were not working properly, so I called another office that checked on the problem and scheduled my appointment for that day at the proper office. I fell coming into the office and someone from the staff as well as several others came to my rescue and helped me up. Wait time was very short. all he staff are pleasant and helpful. I have a great experience, the staff is very friendly, the Lab results are available the next day for my appointment. Dr. Barnes, is very patient asks if I have any changes in symptom's. Provides a through examination. Scheduling next appointment is easy and fast. Also prescriptions are renewed and approved in a timley manor.

Dr. Barnes listens to her patient and is an exceptional diagnostician. After having other doctors ignore my complaints of being tired, losing my hair and gaining a huge amount of weight, Dr. Barnes accurately diagnosed my thyroid condition and as a result I lost 55 labs in 6 months, and regained my energy. I had a small recovery of my hair. After other doctors ignored me, I was starting to become depressed and fearful that I would never feel like my old self again! Dr. Barnes was a genuine life saver!
