I came in because I had a sore throat for the last two weeks. Dr. Koirala was great. It was my first time seeing him but I knew he was my dad's doctor and he always spoke highly of him. He had a wonderful personality. He took time to explain what he was doing. He explained and answered all questions for me. He prescribed an antibiotic and also told me to gargle with warm salt water. He said if this didn't help within 10 days to make a follow up appointment. I took my medicine as prescribed and my sore throats went away so no need for another appointment. Dr. Koirala is by far the best doctor I've ever had. He's the only doctor that got me to quit smoking. He didn't just approach the issue like all my other doctors did, with a nonchalant attitude, where you know they're just saying it. He pleaded with me, taking his time to explain why I need to and how my blood pressure would never get to a good level until I quit. I could tell he cared. He just doesn't address what you go see him for, but things that also need addressing that relates to your age as well, like other health screenings and vaccinations. Now, out of all the doctors I've seen in my lifetime, I've never had one of them ever call me themselves for anything. Recently Dr. Koirala called me at home after office hours because he was concerned after a lab result showed that my liver and kidney function level was elevated. After asking me several questions and not getting an answer he was hoping would help him determine a reason, he began to go thru all of my charts of over 3 years to see if it could help him to figure it out. He noticed that thing were fine until I started taking a medicine that was prescribed by my neurologist over a year ago and asked me to discontinue taking them to see if they could be the cause. When I called for an appointment because of a urinary problem I was given an immediate appointment - for that day. I signed in at 12:30pm. The nurse took me back in short order, took my temperature and weighted me. Also took my blood pressure. She asked me my problem. I told her I had urinary discomfort over the weekend and had drunk "barrels" of water until I could call the clinic on Monday. I had also started having a low-grade temperature. The dr. came in to see me shortly. He asked me the nature of my problem. Listened to my heart - examined my stomach. He looked at my chart as to what I could and could not take - I can't take cepro so he prescribed another anibiotic which was called in to Rite Aid. Told me to leave a urinary specimen. If that showed that he needed to change the anibiotic he would call to let me know. I took the prescribed prescription and my problem was cleared. Eagle clinic called me and told me what the urinary test showed and that I was taking the right prescription. - R.J
