This was a follow up visit after we had been seen on Monday, September 24, 2018. We were at the clinic for about an hour and a half and then were sent home because we were waiting on a call from the Children's Hospital in Aurora. We were directed to go to Children's that evening and then Dr. Lisa did follow up with us on Sunday after we returned home. Our care was superb and she was able to get our prescriptions called in for us that Children's Hospital did not get called in. The wait time could be a little faster, but there may have been some other issues going on that were beyond their control. - A.G

I scheduled the appointment with Dr. Lisa mainly to discuss with her my 9-Health Fair results. I was first greeted by the front office folks who were friendly and pleasant. Then the nurse took me to an exam room to take my vitals and asked me a few questions. Then a young gentlemen introduced himself as he was a medical student , working with Dr. Lisa. Once again he asked me some questions and took vitals, somewhat similar as the nurse did. Dr. Lisa then came into the room and I explained some of my concerns with a few of the results of my 9-Health fair blood work. She explained and answered my questions in away that was easy to understand. She also recommended that I schedule an appointment for a mammogram in the near future, which I have done. Overall I was pleased with my visit and really have no complaints. All the staff that I had interaction with were very professional and pleasant . - B.D

Appt w Amy King to remove a large splinter buried deep beneath a fingernail. It was red, inflamed, and painful--obviously getting infected. After examining and cleaning, she numbed the finger and carefully worked under the nail and cuticle to remove the many wood fragments buried in the tissue. Prescribed antibiotic and to keep covered for a few days. Pain was gone within a few days, infection went away, and finger healed. - R.S

Dr. Lisa is honestly one of the best doctors I've had in my life. I was in and out of doctors office's and hospitals pretty much my entire childhood, but I've never had a doctor that's listened to my concerns in a way as she had. I've gone to doctor's before and voiced my suspicions of conditions I may have, most recently being PCOS. I had a doctor that didn't pay attention or thought I was making it up, but Dr. Lisa immediately took my concerns seriously and we started doing things immediately regarding that. When I made my IUD appointment, any other doctor's office I would've had to wait months and months to hear back from them regarding my insurance and timing, but I was able to get that all done in a week. I felt very prepared and safe for the procedure and she walked me through everything that was going on during procedure. I've recently moved out of state, but Dr. Lisa is now my standard for what I expect from a medical professional. - R.T

I was a walk-in to the care center on a Sunday morning and was seen very quickly. Dr. Lisa was very caring towards me at my appointment. I appreciated the fact that she didn't do any unnecessary tests. She asked if there was anything else that she could do to help me alleviate some of the causes of the illness I had. Dr. Lisa and her staff were WONDERFUL. Our son has a history of frequent kidney stones and of course while we were on vacation he had kidney stones that he was passing. When we arrived and met with Dr. Lisa she listened to his history, trusted the history we provided her with concerning our son and was very attentive to his needs. Our son is physically disabled and it is always a concern for us to take him to a new place given his medical history but Dr. Lisa couldn't have been more compassionate or understanding. I thought both Dr. Lisa and the new nurse were just great. Dr. Lisa discussed my INR and adjusting my Coumadin dosage because my INR had tested a bit low, so we are going to try slightly increasing the Coumadin and retest me in a week. The new nurse went far above and beyond the way she made sure my wound care supplies had been ordered and then tracked the order. She came out into the waiting room and sat by me and explained when I should expect these to arrive. I don't know her name, but she is the blonde lady in the pink Mickey Mouse top! She was just great and so,pleasant and helpful in accommodating my handicap. Dr. Lisa also gave me the bad news that with my cholesterol issues I can no longer eat peanut butter. I will avoid it from now on, but I have the serious problem that I have a huge number of dietary restrictions and am on a low, fixed income where I often have to depend on food donated from food banks in order to have enough to eat. Peanut butter and eggs (which I had to give up over 4 months ago) were inexpensive protein sources on which I depended heavily. I have a real challenge in finding things I can eat that I can also,afford or that are donated free. I do eat the 97 percent fat free ham as a protein source, but often the last week or so of the month I run out of ham and out of money to buy any more, and then I had substituted donated peanut butter from the food banks. Now what do I do? We need to discuss this further. - B.S

I came in for a quick blood draw to determine if I needed a complete phlebotomy or not at this time. As is the usual case with RMFP, my experience was excellent. It was very easy to sign in and my waiting time was minimal. The medical staff was very efficient with the draw and I was out of their office in less than 10-15 minutes in total. The staff at RMFP is always friendly and kind when I have any needs. Furthermore, they are very professional and knowledgeable about their respective duties. Overall outstanding! I've visited this clinic twice on a walk-in basis when unable to get timely appointments with my normal Doctor in Buena Vista. In both cases, the wait was minimal, the care exceptional, and the the staff accommodating. In one case, I required follow-on testing at another facility and Dr. Lisa Z. battled with my insurance company to get the testing approved and then personally called me back when the test had been scheduled. In another case, her office staff attempted follow-ups for nearly a week when I was out of country to schedule testing and to provide results of other tests...uncommon care in today's medical system.On any level, I would highly recommend Dr. Zwerdlinger, her staff and this facility not only for urgent care, but also for general family physician needs. Located on the south side of Leadville on Hwy 24, the clinic is convenient to the valley if you need timely medical treatment during normal and extended business hours.Col T.E. Student doctors and nursing staff are always kind and thorough. This visit was no different. Severe pain in my face and ear was caused by a sinus infection. Dr. Lisa is taking care of me while I am pregnant. I have found her to be very knowledgeable about pregnancy concerns. It is very easy to get in to see her for an appointment and generally she is running on time. A few times, I have had to wait a little longer, but it is usually because she has a medical student with her and I think the benefit of her helping train new physicians outweighs the slight inconvenience of me waiting. She keeps me in the loop with all of my care and discusses everything thoroughly with me, making sure I have all the information I need. It is also very nice to be able to stay in town for my OB care rather than go over the mountain :) - A.B

Overall it was a great experience. Doctor's appointments are not my favorite thing to do but Dr. Lisa's office is an easy place to visit. Only a short wait time to get back to a treatment room and a short wait to see Dr. Lisa. You can always hear her laughing with other patients in the hall which is reassuring. So many other doctor's offices can be overwhelming serious which leads to more anxiety for me than is needed. To say Dr. Lisa is compassionate and patient is an understatement. Lisa has been my provider for several years now, but most recently she was my savior during what I felt was a tough pregnancy. Lisa would call me at home to make sure I was doing okay, give me hugs when she saw me, address my multitude of questions about being pregnant and becoming a mommy for the first time, and not once did she ever make me feel like she did't have time for me. I moved from Leadville to Copper Mountain to be closer to where my husband and I worked and we decided to continue my Prenatal care with Lisa even though she was over 30 minutes away and there were plenty of providers very near by. She drove the distance to be there with me when I gave birth and I was in tears when she arrived because I was so relieve to see her face during that moment in my life. My delivery was not text book, but she handled it all with grace and made sure I was comfortable throughout the whole process.I decided after the baby was born to move to a local practice in Frisco as it was closer, but after 10 weeks I decided the 30 minute drive was worth it, regardless of the weather, and moved back to Lisa's practice. She was so happy to see my family again, especially the beautiful baby boy she delivered in November and greeted us with hugs. She sat with me for quite a while and talked about all the different questions and concerns I had about being a mom and breastfeeding and dealing with a sometimes fussy baby. Again, I can't stress how patient she was with me, and how she never made me feel like I was wasting her time. I feel like I'm at home when I am at Rocky Mountain Family Practice, which I never felt at the local practice in Frisco. If you want a provider that doesn't make you feel like a number, Lisa is the best. She has been in Lake County for years and really knows her stuff. I went to see Dr. Lisa look at a rash on my leg where I previously had a cancer removed. There was a concern that I might need a biopsy of the site. The rash had improved in the 2 days from the time I made the appointment to when I went to see Dr. Lisa. Because the rash had improved so dramatically on its own, Dr. Lisa reassured me that it was unlikely to be a regrowth of the cancer and prescribed cortisone to help the rash heal. In addition, she had me make a follow up appointment in one week to make sure the rash had cleared up. If not she said the site may need a biopsy. Since my appointment, the rash is nearly completely gone. I have gone to Dr. Lisa since she first started practicing in Leadville and have always felt she was thorough, professional, knowledgable and kind. I would recommend other practitioners in her clinic as well. The office staff and medical assistants are courteous, professional and "on the ball."
