Parking is somewhat of the first issue but after making a circle figured out to park in the next door garage, always love paying for parking (not). Staff was pleasurable and the paper work was as much fun as I have had in days (not) I find offices with a tablet or I-Pad instead of pencil and paper is more in-tune with today's clients :). Staff was super and friendly throughout my visit. The Doctor, Romeo was as good as it gets in his approach and "bedside" manor. He quickly set me at ease and made the visit a "10" on a scale of 1-10 10 being the best. As I remarked at the time working for Dr. Romeo appears to be the place to be, that he should charge the staff to work there, not pay them as it's got to be a super job and environment. Recovering from a hemorrhoidectomy is always a painful experience. Dr. Lainez was extremely professional and thorough in his explanation of the procedure. The facility, Westlake Medical Center was an excellent facility with well-trained staff and up-to-date, modern equipment. Staff members were incredibly professional, and most were kind-hearted. Wait time was exactly as explained before the procedure. Scheduling was incredibly easy. I am still in recovery, but expect to make a full recovery soon. - .J

Healing from a hemorrhoidectomy is a painful process, so I cannot say that it is excellent at this point in the healing process. Dr. Lainez operated on our 16 year old son. Our son had never had surgery before and my husband and I were extremely nervous/anxious. Dr. Lainez explained the whole procedure to us. His bedside manner was amazing. He was kind and was very sympathetic in addressing our fears. The operation was successful. My son's wound is healing just as it should. After surgery, my son only took one pain pill. I believe that was due to Dr. Lainez's excellent surgery and also the fact that he spoke to my teenaged son directly about what to do and not do as far as post-surgery care. My experience at Central Park Surgical Center and especially with Dr. Lainez was excellent. I did have a surgical complication and spoke with the on-call doctor with Capital Surgeons Group twice during the weekend with no resolution. Luckily I got in to see Dr. Lainez on Monday and he was more than willing to work on resolving the issue. My main objection is that someone from either the hospital or, more importantly, the surgeon's office should call the day after surgery. It seems imperative to me that someone who has been under general anesthesia should receive, at the very least, a phone call the next day (even if it is the weekend). - .K

Scheduled portacath removal Monday, July 30 2018 at Surgicare of South Austin with Dr. ROMEO A LAINEZ. Arrived at Surgicare at 10:30 am. Was in pre-op by 11:30am or so. Was visited by Dr. Lainez to thoroughly explain the surgery procedure. Dr Smith Anesthesiologist also came in to check past health history and surgery anesthesia procedure. Surgery nurses introduced themselves and reinforced my well being in the operating room. Very reassuring and made me feel at ease. They get 5 plus stars. Surgery scheduled time was 1pm but was moved up to 12:20. Surgery time approximately 20 minutes and I was back in post op recovery. I give pre-op nurse, surgery nurses, and post op nurse all 5 stars. They were all medically professional and communicated extremely well. Genuinely concerned about me and the tasks at hand. Dr. Lainez gets 5 plus stars. Truly professional, through, and giving excellent communication with me and my waiting family. Can't say enough about how well the operation went with an excellent team and facility. I would highly recommend Surgicare of South Austin. - .H

I feel that my procedure was a success. I still have some pain from my surgery, but it has only 5 days. Everything, as far as i can tell, went well. Dr. Lainez is my surgeon at Southwest Bariatric and has performed both my gastric sleeve and a hernia repair this year. I can honestly say that he is one of the best doctors I have received care from and is a very skilled surgeon. He performed both surgical procedures very well and I was very happy with the results. He not only has great surgical skills, but is also very attentive to the patient’s concerns and always answers any questions one may have. I was at first hesitant to the idea of surgery, but Dr. Lainez helped so much that he has gained my respect and trust, and I couldn’t be any happier to have him as my surgeon. The entire staff at Southwest Bariatric is amazing. Everyone, from The receptionists and front office employees, to the Medical Assistants, to Jerry the Nutritonist. I have been very impressed with how professional and helpful everyone has been since my initial consultation back in 2016. I have to give recognition to my own surgeon, Dr. Romeo Lainez, who has been truly a great surgeon and has done the best job imaginable when it comes to my health and needs. He is friendly, will address all questions and concerns you may have, takes the time to really listen to you and makes sure you are taken care of in any emergency, and he did an amazing job with my own Bariatric surgical procedure. I have so much faith in him and he has gained my trust that I have assigned him to do an additional surgical procedure that I will need in the near future.
