Dr White, as always, was so "present" during my visit. She did her required computer work but she kept it in the background, (which I know as a nurse is hard to do), while she kept an intense focus on my needs.I have alot going on physically and psychosocially and she sees the whole picture as well as evaluating the effects of my many specialist's care. Dr White is thorough and patient in answering all my questions. Years ago I was looking for a PCP who would be the "hub of the wheel," and Dr White has perfectlly fulfilled that roll over the years. I had given up on psychologists. Over the years other doctors had made recommendations and I tried them but they were totally useless. About 6 years ago, Dr White referred me to a brilliant psychologist and this made a tremendous difference in my life.I totally trust Dr White! I see Dr. White every three months, for years. Dr. White is the best physician I've ever had in 66 years, period. She has been My Doctor since 1991, before she joined Eagle's practice partnership. You all take tender, good care of her because if I were to lose her, in my remaining life I could not find another so intimately familiar with my degenerative neuromuscular condition, cross exacerbated by a TBI that prevents me from always managing the condition. My association with her was life-changing--more than once as disability curve steepened every few months or years.She doesn't get five stars for being nice, although she is most kind and trustworthy, but because she manages the entire spectrum of my health and her advice has been spot-on since 1997, making my life better.Honestly, I wish I had been a better patient in the early years. We also discussed the issues I needed to address in the months to come. . . making a follow-up appointment with Dr.Holt to deal with the continuing problem on the tip of my nose, scheduling the second shingles shot as soon as it is available and keeping an eye on my cholesterol. We talked about my issues with my balance and was provided with a list of changes I can make in my home with an eye toward preventing falls. I was there for a routine 6-month check. My wait was reasonable, especially because I was slightly late for the appointment. The nurse checked vital signs, came back to administer flu shot at my request, and let Dr White know I was ready. Dr White came in shortly, rechecked blood pressure, did other basic checks, informed me that blood work would not be required and released me after short discussion. Office staff made my f/u appointment for 6 months and I was finished.I don’t know exactly the time spent, but it was reasonable. Everyone was pleasant and efficient. My visit was brief, but she was able to order two prescriptions for me, recommend a follow-up doctor visit, and encourage me to get a physical in 6 months. I made the appointment because I had pain in my right hip consistently for 3 months. Prior appointment in Feb., I told Dr. White that the pain would come and go, but did not affect my ADL. Now it was chronic and affected my ADL. She assessed my hip and decided she needed X-rays to really know what was going on. She scheduled the X-rays. I had the X-rays done and the results was some sprain muscle and arthritis. Dr. White recommended physical therapy for treatment. I am now waiting for scheduling. I am very pleased. I was seen quickly when I needed an appointment. I saw Dr. in a timely manner in the office. She took plenty of time with me to diagnose my problem and make a plan of action. Dr. White is very responsive to concerns I call in about and Dana is very quick to contact me with Dr. White's orders. Dr. White helps me obtain the right medications for my system and gives me proactive advice. Wait time was very brief at my last visit. I was diagnosed with diabetes II last year and Dr. White set everything in motion for me to get the treatment I needed. As a result of following her advice, my AC1 or A1C came down 2.1 points and remains in control. And I feel much much better. Dr. White respects my right not to use a statin drug but to use another supplement to lower my cholesterol which is working at the moment. I have been experiencing some pain behind my knee for several months and finally decided I needed to have it checked out. I contacted Dr. White through the patient portal to inquire about appropriate action. I received a very prompt response to come in to have it checked. Dr. White was not available that day so I saw the PA who was through and thoughtful. I was referred for an ultrasound to rule out a blood clot and given a prescription to ease inflammation. The PA also recommended I recontact the office for a referral for physical therapy. I did not have a blood clot, I took the medication, and I am now participating in the physical therapy. What I liked --- I was able to "talk" with Dr. White several times through the use of the patient portal. She could advise me and provide progress through my treatment without the need to have office time. This availability allowed for appropriate treatment (office visit, procedure, medication and referrals) when and as needed without additional expense of unnecessary office visits. When I do have to take a medication, Dr. White, starts with basic protocol and if I take the medication as instructed, I always have a good outcome.Dr. White also respects my right to refuse certain drugs for an effective natural substitute that keeps my condition within normal limits. However, if the the natural substitute is not effective, over time, I will follow her recommendation.
