A number of questions were asked about my health and medications by a medical assistant before seeing the doctor. The questions were required either by Medicare or insurance companies. If the medical information is kept by the doctor and not shared outside the practice, then I have no concerns and feel like the information can be useful to my doctor. - .S

I had an appointment with Dr. Miller. At my arrival, I filled out my paperwork and only waited about 10 minutes. The staff was helpful and made me feel comfortable. Dr. Miller was attentive and informative. I had to have my blood taken for tests and although I was very nervous due to previous difficult attempts at other establishments, it went incredibly smooth and the nurse was able to get it done quickly and with ease! Someone actually called me with an earlier appointment date as they promised that they would try to do since the date originally set up was somewhat in the distant future. I was anxious to see Dr. Miller as soon as possible so this was a wonderful change of plans. I do find the check-in process somewhat unsettling since there are no guides as to which receptionist to see. Everyone seems to just congregate in a group just inside the door. I cut my thumb while cutting up a canteloupe. Something I have done many times each summer, but the first time I've ever been "wounded." I was ready to apply band-aids as soon as the cut stopped bleeding, however, my daughter insisted I go to the doctor's office and get the cut stitched. I hadn't been in the waiting room for but a few minutes when I was called back to see Dr. Miller. Because I had no appointment, I was "worked in" to her schedule. I was amazed! After the necessary confirmation of meds being taken, weight, pulse, BP, etc, Dr. Miller's nurse came in and immediately checked the cut, applied medication, got the details of how it happened (the canteloupe had a soft spot that neither the knife nor I expected) and laid out on the counter anything Dr. Miller might need to make the repair (i.e. glue, scissors, needles, thread, and a host of other materials). I have to say I was impressed! All the time she was preparing for Dr. Miller, she was cheerfully conversing with my daughter and I. When Dr. Miller came in, she did not rush in, glance at my thumb, go to work on it and rush out to see the next scheduled patient. She carefully looked at the wound, made a decision on how she would treat it and, while she took care of her next patient, the nurse checked on my daughter and I to make sure we were OK, and ensured that everything was ready for Dr. Miller's return. And return she did. And she glued the two flaps of skin together! Can I say I had a "good time" that morning? You bet I can! This doctor/nurse team is incredibly efficient, very pleasant and encouraging and never once gave any indication they were put off by having interrupted their schedule. It was a sincere pleasure to meet this very efficient team! - .A

Tried to treat myself but realized I couldn't make any headway so I walked in Thursday noon Dec. 21, 2017, with no appointment expecting to be seen by someone in the Walk-In-Clinic. I am a longtime patient of Dr. Barnes. The friendly receptionist said there were open appointments and I'd be seen very soon. I don't think I waited even 5 minutes and was then taken back to the examining room to see Dr. Miller. She examined me, told me exactly what I had and called in a prescription for Amoxicillin. As per my usual Eagle experience, I was treated with respect by every person in the operation from the moment I walked in till I walked out the front door. I had brought several letters with proof of my prescription profile and history for Dr. Miller to review, which she did.I have been a patient of Dr. Miller's for more than five or six years and have always found her to be intelligent, warm, understanding, empathetic but firm about how she wants me to address various health issues (such as my weight and lack of exercise; my potential for Type 2 Diabetes; and my high blood pressure and high cholesterol). I am not quite sure of the date but I think it was Feb 10th. Dr. Lisa Miller is a very nice young woman, soft spoken and a decent doctor. this was my 3 month med check as Dr. Miller had given me a new medication Invokanna for treatment of type II diabetes. tried this for a little while and testing results were not good. my A1C did not move down much and my triglycerides shot up and I developed a little blood in the urine and inflammation in the urethra area and itching. it was very, very uncomfortable. Dr. Miller suggested I continue with Innvokanna but I decided not to. the decision then was to increase my metformin. my numbers for A1C have been high for a while. I do take my share of responsibility in that as Dr. Miller has suggested many times to up my exercise and I am trying. I do not want to try any more of the newer medications for treatment of diabetes type II. if there is other medications that I need it needs to be old school meds. over all the visit was what it always is, fine. - Terry J Anderson

This was a routine visit to review my present status of diabetes and MS. As always the staff was helpful and gracious. Dr. Miller is prompt and never makes me feel rushed. She answers questions to the very best of her ability. I appreciate being treated as a person not a number. - .R
